- Close collaborator to Late Abdool Wahab Foondun i.c.w organizing and conducting Urdu exams viz. Ibtedai, Adeeb, Adeb Mahir and Adeeb Kamil
- Secretary of Jamia Urdu Examinations Board (1982 – 1995)
- Former Assistant Secretary of Urdu Speaking Union
- Member of Urdu Panel at NCCRD (1985 – 2003)
- Member of National Urdu Drama Committee (1982 – 2005) and (2008 to date)
- Gold medalist (came out 1st at national level in the School Certificate exams). Medal awarded by the MGI
- Was conferred the ‘The National Urdu Award’ by the Islamic Cultural Centre in 1996
- Prize awarded by the Ministry of Arts and Culture for one act play ‘Mamta’
- Awarded 1st prize (Rs 10, 000) for the best short story ‘Barka Dada’ by the Ministry of Arts and Culture
- 1st prize awarded as Best Essayist by the Ministry of Education for the essay ‘The Role of a Teacher in the Propagation of his Language and Culture.’
- Have been coaching Urdu students for the following exams: Ibtadai, Adeeb, Adeeb Mahir, Adeeb Kamil, SC and HSC (1969 to date)
- Preparation and presentation of Urdu Literature lessons for HSC at the Mauritius College of the Air (1990- 1992)
- Former member of Film Censor Board
- Contribution in various Urdu magazines such as ‘Joostajoo’, ‘Vasant’, ‘Qaumi Zuban’, ‘Karachi’ etc
- Currently, an active member of ‘The Society for the Promotion of Urdu’
- Literary activities : interested in writing short stories, one act plays, essays etc
